It's our favorite time of year once again. HGTV's Dream Home 2008 is back with even more prize packages. This year, the dream home is located in The Shore at Islamorada in the Florida Keys, complete with designer furnishings throughout, and a new GMC Yukon Hybrid! The grand prize package worth more than $2.2 million this time.

You can enter the drawing once a day through February 19, 2008. When you re-enter your drawing information, you just need to submit your email address. Easy enough.

HGTV Design Star 2007 Winner Is!

Challenge 7, the final competition was very exciting. I personally liked Kim over Todd through-out the design challenges and guess what? Kim is the winner of the HGTV's Design Star 2007!

Congrats to Kim. She came in with the least designing experience among all and she made it happen. I'm very proud of her and I was really glad to see her win the challenge.

The final challenge, "Island Dreams" was to re-design two small condos in Hawaii. Kim's concept of design was "Tropical Punch Suite" and Todd designed a room with ocean-inspirations.

Yes, it's true. HGTV's popular program, "Design Star Season 2" is about to begin. The Design Star Season 1 was a blast. My wife and I watched all episodes. I'm really glad HGTV decided to broadcast season 2 so soon. The first air will be on July 22, 2007. Which is about 9 days from today. I can't wait.

The first show will be held in Las Vegas and the host will be Clive Pearse. And the judges will be Martha McCully, Cynthia Rowley, and Vern Yip.

I just received an email from HGTV about the Green Home they are giving away in 2008. This is a separate giveaway from the Dream Home 2008.

The Winner of HGTV Dream Home 2007

I'm sure it wasn't me, but Robert O'Neill Sr. from Tennessee is the winner of the Dream Home 2007. The prize includes the dream house at the skiing resort in Winter Park, Colorado, and a GMC Acadia crossover SUV. Also there is a $250,000 cash prize to cover the tax & expenses.

I just watched the video of the winner getting a surprise at a restaurant and it was really exciting to watch the winner getting the prize. There have been some bitter comments going on online stating that he wasn't excited when he heard the news. Well, I think he was in shock, and it took some time for him to realize what he had just won. He looked sincere and I believe he well deserves it.

Congratulations to Robert O'Neill Sr. and hope that you enjoy the Dream House!
